DAY 1 : Arrival Danang (D)
Upon arrival at Danang Airport, we are transferred to our hotel for check-in. DaNang is Vietnam's third largest city, and is located on the South China Sea coast, midway between Hanoi and Saigon. It is the largest city in Central Vietnam. Being the economic powerhouse of central Vietnam, Danang combines the buzz of a bigger city with beautiful beaches and great restaurants. A lot of money has recently been poured into tree-lined boulevards, bridges and beachside resorts. The best place to start our tour of Danang is by visiting the historically informative Cham museum. According to Chinese chronicles, the Champa kingdom was founded in 192 A.D and controlled what is now south and central Vietnam until 1697. At present, the museum houses 297 stone and terracotta sculptural works made between the 7th and the 15th centuries. These are impressive artifacts typical of the Champa cultural style. We'll also make a stop at the famous Non Nuoc fine arts stone carving village before ending our tour with a leisurely walk along the Han River to explore the local shopping centers.
